Sacraments of Initiation/ Sacramentos de Iniciacion
Baptism- The essential rite of Baptism consists in immersing the candidate in water or pouring water on the head, while pronouncing the invocation of the Most Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy spirit. Baptism imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual sign, the character, which consecrates the baptized person for Christian worship. Because of the character Baptism cannot be repeated(cf.DS 1609 and DS 1624)
Registration for Baptism can be done in the church office for children under the age 6. Children ages 7 and up need to register with Faith Formation Office.
Must be Registered active members for no less than 4 months.
Bautizos:
Confirmation- Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation. The essential rite of Confirmation is anointing the forehead of the baptized with sacred chrism together with the laying on of hands and words; "Be sealed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit."
Communion- Eucharist is the heart and the summit of the Church's life for in it Christ associates his Church and all her members with his sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving offered once for all on the cross to his Father; by this sacrafice he pours out the graces of salvation on his Body which is the Church. The essential signs of the Eucharist sacrament are wheat bread and grape wine, on which the blessing of the Holy Spirit is invoked and the priest pronounces the words of consecration spoken by Jesus during the Last Supper:"This is my body which will be given up for you... This is the cup of my blood..."
